Alex Maher and Brian Blackmore

Alex Maher's interest in Disney art began at age 5. He worked as an illustrator-draftsman in the US Navy, then in various other positions as an illustrator. He has worked for Disney since 1991 and full-time since 1993 as a Senior Character Artist with Walt Disney Merchandise. In 1964, at age 5, Brian Blackmore decided he wanted to be a Disney artist. He spent much of his youth watching Disney shows and drawing Disney characters. After several years in other jobs, he began working for Disney in 1990 and has been with the Disney Merchandise group since 1993.

Margaret Kerry

Margaret has been an actor all her life. Just out of her teens, she was picked to be the live-action reference model for Tinker Bell for the Walt Disney film, Peter Pan. At the age of 22, Margaret improvised the antics of Tink on Disney's Sound Stage One. Backed by a huge arc of canvas on the otherwise empty stage, she was strongly backlit to emphasize her curvy figure as she was being filmed. This footage was then given to several animators. Each time their completed scenes would flash on the screen... there was three-and-a-half inch Tinker Bell looking just like five-foot-two Margaret Kerry!

Tao Nguyen

Tao Nguyen has been drawing ever since he was a little boy. He has worked on many Disney films including Fantasia 2000, Treasure Planet, and Home on The Range. He has also been an animator for Wanrner Brother's Animation and Dreamworks. Tao is currently working with the Disney Design Group, creating merchandise for the Disney theme parks.

Kendra Trahan

Kendra Trahan was born and educated in Southern Oregon. As a child her family would make the long drive to Southern California every few years to visit all the major theme parks including her favorite, Disneyland. She has met many original designers of Disneyland, and has conducted several personal interviews of Disney Lengends. Kendra has the distinction of also a member of the board of governors of the Carolwood Historical Society. She is the president of the National NFFC Disneyana Fan Club, and author of The Disneyland Detective.

Chris Carlson

Larry Pontius

Raised in Jackson, Michigan, Larry attended Michigan State University, graduating with a master's degree in Advertising. He has worked as a copywriter at Leo Burnett Company in Chicago, copy supervisor at Grey Advertising in Detroit, and as creative director at Grey Advertising in Sydney, Australia. In 1974 he joined the Disney organization in Florida as director of marketing for Walt Disney World. Two years later he moved to Disney corporate headquarters in Burbank as vice president of marketing for Disneyland and Walt Disney World. In 1980 he returned to Florida and formed his own advertising and video production firm. Larry has won the Effie Award from the American Marketing Association, an Addy from the Advertising Club of New York, a Clio for international advertising, and Bronze Lions from both the Venice and Cannes Film Festivals.

Jason Surrell

Jay Shanahan

Jay Shanahan was our 'Fear an Ti' (pronounced 'Far on tea') which is gaelic for 'Man of the House' or maitre'd for Downtown Disney's Raglan Road. Jay studied in universities in Ireland Switzerland and the US. Jay taught philosophy and media at University in Dublin. He also hosted numerous radio talk shows in Ireland and produced/directed documentaries for Irish TV.
